Green Infrastructure Program

About this project

This green infrastructure program involved a 25-year phased approach of many types of green projects, some of which are now part of a Michigan mandated NPDES permit to restore water quality and protect the public’s health. The program is intended to reduce annual storm water runoff into the CSO system and reduce the size and cost of planned CSO control facilities.

Engineering services were contracted to augment the development and implementation of the program using a 5-year task order driven approach.

Sigma provided services to meet quantitative benchmarks for reducing annual storm water runoff volumes under a 5-year task order driven approach. Tasks included multi-discipline study, design, and construction management, and benefit estimations related to green storm water management techniques. The work also involved coordinating with program managers, government agencies, and authorities to develop models, cost estimates, schedules, and monitor and track program progress.
